Electrochemical Disinfection of Root Canals Bears No Risk of Damaging Periapical Tissues in a Dog Model

چکیده

Boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes have been advocated as a potential treatment alternative to the established methods for root canal disinfection. As healing of periapical tissue is important in this context, associated risk host damage was be evaluated. Following vitro cell culture experiments (HeLa cells), performed an animal trial comparing BDD electrode application and currently used rinsing media with respect viability damage. Statistical analyses size radiolucency were based on Kruskal-Wallis Nemenyi’s All Pairs tests (α = 0.05). The direct had time-dependent effect comparable H2O2, NaOCl, CHX application. In contrast chemical treatment, transient. Conventionally treated teeth additionally did not significantly differ from each other observed radiographically (vertical p 0.998 horizontal 0.878) histologically 0.940 0.862). While showing greater disinfection efficiency, electrochemical canals does compared conventional treatment.

Microorganisms from canals of root-filled teeth with periapical lesions.

AIM The objective of the present study was to identify the microbial flora within root canals of teeth with failed root-canal treatment and to determine the association of the various species with clinical features. METHODOLOGY Sixty root-filled teeth with persisting periapical lesions were selected for this study. During nonsurgical endodontic re-treatment, the root-filling material was remo...

Bacteriological study of root canals associated with periapical abscesses.

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to identify microorganisms from root canals with periapical abscesses and to ascertain the susceptibility of Peptostreptococcus prevotii and Fusobacterium necrophorum to antimicrobials. Study design Thirty root canals were microbiologically sampled by using sterile paper points. The concomitant microorganisms were identified through the use of established met...

Disinfection of root canals with photon-initiated photoacoustic streaming.

INTRODUCTION This study set out to compare the efficacy of laser-activated and ultrasonically activated root canal disinfection with conventional irrigation, specifically its ability to remove bacterial film formed on root canal walls. METHODS Seventy human premolars were shaped to an apical size #20, taper .07, sterilized, and contaminated in situ with oral bacteria for 1 week and incubated ...
